How to Use the Brace Height Tool

Brace height is the perpendicular distance from the string at rest to the deepest point of the grip. Enter your bow's overall length in inches (the AMO length for a recurve) and your current measured brace height.

The recommended window centers on 12.71% of bow length and extends 0.625 inches to either side — a 1.25-inch band. For a 68-inch recurve that puts the midpoint near 8.6 inches with a working range of roughly 8.0 to 9.3 inches; a 70-inch bow centers around 8.9 inches.
